is back

Back to blogging

I have taken a few weeks off, but I am back! It was nice to take some time to revamp the site and make some updates. The short break from blogging allowed me time to make the updates, but I am excited to begin writing again.

I have received a lot of great feedback and encouragement over the past nine months of blogging, and I have seen the genuine impact it has had on people's lives. It is a privilege to provide these resources as a way of equipping followers of Jesus, with the hope of empowering growth and multiplication in your life.

Following Jesus means three primary things about your life.

  1. You are growing in your love for Jesus, putting him above and before all things.
  2. You are growing in your character, living a life that is consistent with your love for Jesus.
  3. You are multiplying your love for Jesus into those around you.

I want to help you do this. I want to grow in these same areas, and I am excited that we get to do this together. My prayer is that the resources I provide on the blog will help you grow and multiply.

What has changed on the blog?

The first big change is the overall look and feel. The basic layout is the same, but I have a new logo, new colors, new fonts, etc. I hope the updates help readers to participate more, because in my experience, things that look nice are easier to engage with.

I have also added a new page, "Why Jesus?" Unashamedly, Jesus is the central figure of this blog. He is the reason I am a pastor. He is the reason I am blogging. This site is designed to help you grow in your love for Jesus, and see all of your life changed as a result. For anyone who stops by and doesn't know why Jesus is such a big deal, that page is supposed to help answer their question.

The final big change to the site is that I have created categories and linked each post to one or more of the categories. If you scroll down, you will see a section in the right sidebar that allows you to navigate to additional posts based on the way they have been categorized. If you are interested in a particular topic, click on it and see the additional posts you can read about that topic.

New Facebook page

I have found that most of my blog engagement has come through sharing new posts to my Facebook wall. In order to let people know more about what is happening on the blog, I have created a new page to share updates.

As a way of encouraging people to like my page and celebrate the new updates, I am doing a giveaway. If you like my new Facebook page by November 1st, you will be entered into a drawing for two new books: Knowing God by J.I. Packer and Saturate by Jeff Vanderstelt.

What would you like to see me write about?

I would love to hear from you. I want to write content that will be most helpful for you. This will sometimes mean that I share things I am learning or thinking about, but it may also mean that I answer questions you have. Please let me know what topics you would like to read about or what questions you may have about growing as a follower of Jesus.

Thank you for stopping by! And thank you for your thoughts and feedback!
